The original inspiration for this piece was the amazing piece of bark that I found while walking on a trail out near Kalaloch beach. I immediately saw it in my mind as a wolf. One of my darker works, it is meant to convey a feeling of what it’s like to be trapped. Even though the collar is not actually a real trap, it reminds me of what a leg-hold trap looks like. The piece is 2-sided and looks completely different on each side except for the eye. As in many of my works, it combines the masculine and feminine, using rusty old tools juxtaposed with vintage buttons. This piece was selected to be in the 2018 Edmonds Art Festival. 13"h x 18”w x 5”d
